What delivery costs

Delivery is charged per order and shown in full at checkout before you pay. Nothing is added afterwards.

Dispatch and delivery times

Orders placed before 12:00 on a working day are normally dispatched the same day. Orders placed later, or at a weekend or on a public holiday, are dispatched on the next working day.

Once collected by the courier, delivery is usually 1 to 3 working days to the main centres and 2 to 5 working days to outlying areas. These are the courier’s own estimates, not guarantees.

You will receive a tracking reference by email when your order leaves us.

Delivery addresses

We deliver to street and business addresses. We cannot deliver to a post box. Someone must be present to sign; if nobody is available the courier will attempt redelivery or leave a card.

Please check the delivery address before placing the order. We can change it only while the order is still with us.

If something is wrong on arrival

Check your parcel on delivery. If anything is damaged, missing or not what you ordered, contact us within 7 days at info@thescents.co.za or +27 67 932 7078 and we will put it right. This is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, which are set out on our Returns and Cancellations page.

Aerosols and flammable goods

Fragrance is classed as a flammable liquid. It travels by road within South Africa and cannot be sent by air freight. That is a carrier restriction rather than a choice, and it is why some outlying destinations take longer.
